Job Description:
Our client with one of the world’s largest mines is seeking an Mine Planning Engineer at their underground site in the Northern Cape 

Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical assistance to mining section
  • Life of Mine (LOM) design and scheduling
  • Developing annual business plan and mining strategy
  • Input into annual Resource and Reserve statement
  • Conducting monthly planning meetings with production teams
  • Various value adding projects as per business requirement
  • Relieving as Mine Planning Manager
  • Mentoring  Mining Engineering students/graduates
  • Guide start-up operations at partially developed mine to maintain production whilst bearing in mind long term project

Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • BEng/BSc  Mining Engineering
  • Must be in possession of a Blasting Ticket
  • Mine Manager’s certificate of competency will be an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge of 3D Mine Planning and scheduling software (Mine 2-4D, Vulcan, etc.)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a mining environment
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain a Certificate of Medical Fitness
