Country Director (Fleet Management / Marine Services) - Luanda, Angola
Accountability for the P&L of the business.
Ownership of Client relationships, external stakeholder management and ensuring that regulatory authorities do not have reason to doubt compliance nor professionalism.
Asset management - manage the safe and efficient operation of the fleet, presently 5 tugs + 6 other vessels
Lead, support and guide the managers and employees of the company
Champion the adherence to all relevant safety, industry and business standards and ultimately be accountable for this compliance.
Provide oversight and supervise the Technical functions maintenance and repair (M&R) programmes and spend for vessels and associated equipment
Ensure that Flag and Class surveys are completed on time and within budget
Participate in Regional best practice development and sharing in all aspects of operations, including crewing, procurement, and M&R.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Characteristics
Strong safety mind set and focus
Proven general management and leadership capabilities within a multi-national environment, preferably in a developing world location.
Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to engage key takeholder at all levels, and to leverage group resources when needed
Ability to execute, drive and optimise on-going operations
Financially astute, with good knowledge and awareness of budgeting process’
Marine Services Industry knowledge and network – preferably with emphasis on Africa / Middle East and/or the O&G sector.
Commercially aware, good business focus on local marine markets
Fluency in English is essential.
Candidates should note that there are no international schools in the vicinity of the operation.

Supported by a team of seasoned industry and maritime management professionals in the MEA Regional Office, you will lead an organisation of over 100 employees - consisting office functional staff, blue collar teams and vessel crew.
Reporting into the role are the full suite of functional streams, allowing you to own the delivery of safe and reliable services to our clients.
The position will require regular travel within Angola, primarily to Luanda. Travel to Dubai is also to be expected but less frequently. An estimated 20-30 days of travel per year are to be expected.
