Mining Superintendent (Mining Production / Mine Construction / Quarry Managers Certificate) – Sierra Leone West Africa

Job Description:
An International Mining company is looking for a number of Mining Superintendents to join their Operation in Sierra Leone. The role will be responsible for delivering safe production to the mining unit and feed hoppers, on time and to budget. Construct safe tailings dam walls and all associated roads and ramps to required specifications. And ensuring all mining activities are in line with the local regulations
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure correct maintenance and repair to plant for optimum availability
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead and control the work environment, to achieve production targets
  • Supervise subordinates
  • Take corrective action, where required to achieve superior levels of performance
  • Assist and ensure agreed training and staff developments are met
  • Develop systems, processes, and procedures to ensure achievement of production targets, in terms of quality and quantity
  • Review plant performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve production
  • Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted on regular basis
  • Ensure regular Health and Safety talks done, to keep staff up to date
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification from recognized institution
  • Obtained or in the process of attaining Quarry Manager’s certificate
  • Experience in a mining production environment, of which 5 years’ must be in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of production management principles, systems and procedures
  • Project management that ensures adherence to a set schedule
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels, to ensure employees work to the best of their ability
