Senior Mine Planning Engineer (Mining Engineering / Deswik / Expat / Underground Mining) – Zambia, Southern Africa

Job Description:
A well-established mining client has a vacancy for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer for their operations in Zambia. This is a senior role within their Technical Services Department and reports directly into the Chief Mining Engineer.
  • Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures
  • Optimise mine plan / schedule, by using relevant software
  • Mine design
  • Medium to long term mine planning and scheduling
  • Annual budget compilation
  • Assist mine ventilation and infrastructure projects
  • Train and mentor national mining engineers
  • Relive Chief Mining Engineer as required
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Bachelor of Mining Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years underground hardrock mining experience
  • At least 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 7 years total underground experience
  • Previous experience in mechanized mining
  • High level Deswik software skills
  • Experience in jumbo development and longhole stoping
  • Fluent English and excellent report writing skills
  • Must have previous experience expat experience across Africa
