Human Resources Superintendent (Mining / Expat / HR / IR / Employee Relations) DRC - Central Africa

Job Description:
A mining company are looking for a qualified and experienced Human Resources Superintendent in their site in Central Africa. The candidate will be responsible for the facilitation of expatriate staff appointment, documentation, onboarding and continued monitoring of performance, legal compliance, code of conduct, disciplinary cases, relationship handling, localisation mentoring and coaching, and other day-to-day business management tasks.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide support towards expatriate recruitment, retention strategies, processes and support
  • Manages all aspects of international employee recruitment
  • Oversees the visa and work permit process
  • Interface and onboarding of new starters, and handling the process of exiting staff
  • Key member of Human Capital team
  • Required to engage effectively and cooperatively with management peers, company stakeholders, subordinates and contractors in the pursuit of continuous improvements in management outcomes, including harmonious industrial and employee relations
  • Provide coaching to line management on various ‘best-practice’ systems and processes that will enable them to effectively and efficiently lead their employees
  • Evaluate the various work processes delivered by the HR Department including mentoring, performance monitoring, career development for all employees and to identify new business improvement opportunities
  • Management and leadership of direct staff, their work, time and operational efficiencies
  • Assist with the conducting of quarterly performance and development reviews of the relevant staff
  • Update and management of the HRIS related to expatriate staff
  • Interface with payroll on new starters / exiting staff, monthly uploads, checks, administrative interface
  
Requirements: Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant Business / Behavioural Sciences degree
  • Preference to post graduate qualification
  • Qualified HR/ER/IR practitioner
  • 10 years minimum HR/IR/ER experience of which 5 years was at a mid-senior management level
  • Good communication in English (written and speaking), French an advantage
  • Working experience in DRC
  • Experience in the mining or resources sectors
