Mine Technical Service Manager (French Speaking / Open Pit / Modelling Software / Mineral Production) - Australasia

Job Description:
Our Client, a nickel mining company is looking for a Mine Technical Service Manager for its operations in New Caledonia.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise technical teams: resource geology, production geology, design, topography, planning, geotechnics and water management
  • Establish and coordinate the various geology and engineering studies required to achieve the objectives and ongoing sustainability of the mine activities
  • Ensure that the ore is produced in enough quantity, on time and according to the chemical specifications required by the metallurgical plant
  • Develop and maintain mine plans, operating sequences and associated budgets
  • Monitor key performance indicators, adapt and develop them as needed to achieve objectives
  • Ensure the quality control of ore mined and processed for budgetary purposes, particularly in terms of content and recovery of the resource
  • Guarantees the estimation of resources and reserves according to international standards
 
Requirements: Qualifications and Skills
  • Bilingual French & English
  • Holder of a master’s degree in Mining Engineering or Mining Geology
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in a similar open pit environment
  • Knowledge and expertise in 3D modelling software, associated methods and techniques for mine planning, mine design, engineering and geology functions
  • Mastery of computer tools, databases and methods specific to mine planning, engineering and geological modelling.
