Technical Specialist Auto Electrician (Heavy Mining Equipment / Electrical Testing / Training / Underground) – East Africa

Job Description:
A leading gold mining company is looking for a Technical Specialist Auto Electrician for one of their underground operations in East Africa. The main purpose of this role is to complete all task assignments so that all Heavy Mining Equipment on site is maintained to the original manufacturer’s standards and provided fir for purpose to the mining operations, for safe and proper use. As well as providing training and coaching to junior staff
 
Responsibilities:
  • Dual role of technical specialist and trainer/ coach of the team
  • Ensure the team is trained to best practices and manufacturer’s standards all the time
  • Perform diagnostic electrical tests as needed
  • Undertake electrical repairs on various vehicles and plant
  • |Repair parts and equipment when needed
  • Maintain and repair various kinds of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles
  • Order for parts and equipment as necessary
  • Liaise with agents and manufacturers on problems in order to achieve an efficient repair
  • Complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and applies signatures as appropriate
  • Identify repairs required vis unfair wear and tear, and advise the service manager and foreman mechanic
  • Must be able to work on remote systems underground  
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the heavy mining equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrable experience as trainer/ coach
  • Trade Tested Auto Electrician
  • FTC/ OND Auto Electrician
  • Preferred Trainer/ coach qualification
