Regional Manager SSA (Business Development / Sales / Capital Equipment / Engineering / Strategy) – Gauteng, South Africa

Job Description:
Our client is the leading provider of washing equipment for quarries, mines and recycling operations on the global market. Working collaboratively with the functional, sectoral and regional Head of Departments, the successful incumbent will take the lead in the identification, planning, organisation and delivery of all business development activity targeted to drive successful growth and deliver the vision of the Group within Sub-Sahara Africa. This person will report directly to the Group Business Development Director and will have significant input into the strategic direction of the company for this region.
 
Responsibilities:
  • To analyse the market and to develop a growth strategy to meet the annual regional business development targets
  • In conjunction with the functional Heads based at HQ, to develop, support and manage the regional team to implement the regional growth strategy and ensure achievement of agreed goals
  • To define, monitor and feedback on all departmental KPI’s to the Group Business Development Director and Group Managing Director
  • To efficiently manage the Company’s marketing activities for the regional market in conjunction with the Director of Marketing
  • To develop, update and maintain a database of existing and potential customers through the company’s CRM system
  • To co-ordinate all PR and promotional activity undertaken by the Company, building brand awareness and developing Unique Selling Points
  • To develop and maintain excellent business relationships with the Company’s current customer base in the region
  • To identify, profile, analyse and implement new business opportunities in the regional market
  • To demonstrate the technical capability of Company solutions to potential customers
  • To interpret customer requirements and create solutions using the technical resources available within the Company
  • To create customer requirement proposals detailing the Company’s offer using the commercial resources available within the Company
  • To manage the sales cycle to ensure that deals are forecasted correctly, shortlisted and won in line with sales targets
  • To contribute to new product/service development and promotion/distribution in conjunction with the functional Head
  • To adopt and promote the Company’s ethos to quality, ensuring exceptional levels of customer care
  • To make suitable recommendations to the leadership team on business development activity and on how the Company can improve the marketability of its products/solution
  • To assist with after sales queries, investigate customer complaints and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers’ satisfaction
  • To adhere to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy at all times and ensure that best practice is instilled within the regional team
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Degree level or equivalent in a Commercial/Financial/Business related discipline
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of technical competence in sales of capital equipment/ manufacturing/ construction processes
  • Have a proven track record in achieving/exceeding business targets
  • Have a minimum of 5 years sales management experience
  • Be experienced in managing teams
  • Be exceptional at establishing and maintaining successful customer partnerships
  • Have exceptional interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be computer literate and familiar with the use of CRM systems
  • Be able to work on own initiative and under pressure, remotely
  • Have a current driving license and vehicle insured for business use
