Business Line Manager (Mining / Sales / Account Management / Strategic / MBA / Mobile Equipment) – Gauteng, South Africa

Job Description:
Our client is a leading supplier of equipment and services to the mining industry. They are current in need of a Business Line Manager – Services who leads and coordinates the work of leaders, and/or specialists to achieve agreed business and divisional results and drives sales for Company service offering, while achieving profitability targets in service execution. They have full managerial responsibility for multi teams/departments and/or specialists departments. Work is normally carried in an indirect manner through others and by setting and cascading organizational targets. They will be reporting directly into the VP/MD Sales Southern Africa
  • Execution of Global divisional strategy within a matrix organization
  • Ultimate responsibility to meet established sales targets and ensuring they are effectively cascaded in relevant targets of the relevant teams
  • Provide regular business performance metric reports to management;
  • Liaise and work with senior management to set forecasts, budgets, and targets,
  • Ensure that end-user and customer relations are effectively managed,
  • Review and monitor sales performance and refine sales strategy as required,
  • Manage relevant managers performance and results,
  • Managerial responsibility for multiple teams across locations
  • Ensure strong financial discipline within Southern Africa sales area, balancing sales and managing Administrative and Sales (A&S) expenses (Direct & Indirect)
  • Responsible to supervise the NPS program
  • Responsible to manage the E-business development program and implement its best practices
  • Lead and support the development of e-business culture/customer experience
  • Provide process and system support to CSC team for applications including Aurora, eBusiness, Salesforce, MySandvik etc.
  • Implement new/adjusted processes, systems and relevant applications in respect of all available digital market channels
  • Accountable for eBusiness program user set up and administration, including FDM License Management
  • Ensure equipment data is maintained to the highest standard in the defined Master Data management system
  • Perform integrity checks with Key Stakeholders to gain information of the changes in customers existing fleet.
  • Provide first line support to assist sales team and customers with e-commerce solutions
  • Responsible for technical/systems onboarding/training of new customers/key users
  • Responsible to maintain data integrity within the eBusiness systems (Fleet management, My Sandvik, etc.)
  • Identify issues related to e-commerce and set-up mitigation and resolution activities
  • Implement tools/reports/analytics to drive improvements in sales efficiency and hit rates
  • Develop bundled offerings and campaigns
  • Effective customer relations: Address complaints and suggestions; Competitor analysis & Needs analysis; Regular interaction with clients; Reported deviations and trends; Clarify expectations & Long term planning
  • Effective subordinates: Performance agreements, reviews & appraisals; Succession plans; Coaching and implementing a training plan; Continuous assessment of current team members’ skills levels
  • Cost effectiveness: Produce rolling forecast, budget & weekly targets; Financial and budgetary Reviews & reports; Continuous needs analysis (internal & external
  • Sales activities: Identify opportunities to sell Company total offerings; Lead sales management (including best view on future demand); Conduct competitor analysis; Develop deep understanding of customers business, operations and processes
  • KPIS: Workshop / Contract performance: efficiency, throughput, operational standards
  • Standardization of Operations

  • Service contracts profitability

Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Relevant Business Degree/Diploma, an MBA/MBL is advantageous
  • Experience in mining applications (Specifically Underground mining)
  • Must have 12-15 years relevant experience with at least 5 years being in a senior management position
  • Qualifications or Experience with Six Sigma and productivity improvement programs essential
  • Global Leadership Programme/MDP highly advantageous
  • Office Suite Literacy
  • Exposure to mobile mining equipment or similar - workshop / field service
  • Experience in managing heavy engineering workshop facilities
  • Technical competencies: Account Management, Finance & Business Acumen, Quality Management, Products & Services, Project Management, Field Sales, Administration Compliance
