Job Description:
A leading international mining company is looking to hire a Track maintenance Supervisor, who will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the company’s railway lines. The role will involve working strategically to improve the company’s profitability and efficiency. 
  • Manage train staff in track maintenance
  • Ensure safety in maintenance at all times, in accordance with mining/ port and railway standards
  • Coordinate and plan daily, monthly and yearly track maintenance schedules
  • Assist Management with track materials orders
  • Evaluate and recommend staff for training and promotion
  • Inspection of the per way by foot- hi rail – foot plate (locomotive)
  • Supervise track machines and operations
  • Conduct rail tests
  • Attend to track emergencies
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth functions of operations
  • Maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Completed apprenticeship
  • Qualification in Logistics, preferably Freight Transportation logistics
  • Management qualification
  • 10 years’ experience in railroad operations, including communication in rail freight
  • Experience in railroad operations, Hi-rail and leadership
  • Project Management
  • Proven ability to lead a team safely and improve safety awareness
  • Incident and accident investigation
