Our investment banking client is currently seeking a Global Markets IT Assurance Manager
  • This person will be an IT person with Risk and Control insights and experience.
  • Preference is to hold a Technical degree, rather than Commerce degree

Candidate Required to:
  • Understand the SDLC.
  • Understand the Global Markets business.
  • Perform IT related control reviews,
    • investigate gaps in control layers, 
    • perform impact analysis, 
    • provide recommendations for remediation and 
    • drive traction for closure.
  • Be comfortable and proficient in Risk assessment and control testing techniques, testing controls and writing reports, keeping trail of working papers.
  • Have the ability to understand technical terminology when working with key stakeholders (Business and IT).
  • Have the ability to interpret the Business requirements and concerns and relay where necessary the severity and risk impact to IT, using the required technical language.
  • Be fully versed on the changes in technology within the Financial and broader market, and understand the impacts and requirements for the CIB (robotics, cyber security, etc.).
  • Where necessary, provide challenge to IT and technical teams on behalf of the business.
  • Have the ability to present themselves and their work at
    • senior Risk and Governance committees.
    • attend Global Markets IT Risk and Governance committees and 
    • other internal Incident Review meetings.
  • Be the Business partner and the IT partner.
  • Extend attention to detail.
  • Be involved in Business Continuity discussions:
    • Business continuity plan build outs,
    • Testing (rotational, annual, PTW’s, etc)
    • Scenario development and 
    • Recovery site build outs.
  • Work with the Global Markets IT Risk manager to build a forward looking and proactive risk profile for Global markets.
  • Interact with Internal and External audit, on audit engagements, findings and assignment of action and owners.
  • Build professional partnerships with key stakeholders.

Basic requirements:
  • Qualification: BSc Computer Science Or Commerce degree with past grad and other qualifications that are specific in Information Technology
  • Exposure to Corporate Investment Banking, experience in Global Markets specifically.
  • A good understanding of the 
    • CIB IT Risk and Control environment; 
    • Global Markets applicable core system types (Trading, Payments, Confirmations, Recon’s, etc.) 
  • Experience with IT project management and testing
  • Between 5-10 years’ working experience.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Comfortable to work in a flat structure environment with no direct reports.
