Client Description:

A leading multinational tire manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity which will be based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Our client manufactures tires for automobiles, commercial trucks, light trucks, motorcycles, SUVs, race cars, airplanes, farm equipment and heavy earth-mover machinery.
  • Implementation of Supply Chain and Logistics Execution strategies and standards in the South African and Sub-Saharan Africa markets
  • Proposing and implementing innovative continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence (service, cost, efficiency and quality)
  • Full responsibility for Warehouse and Transport (Inbound and Outbound) Logistics
  • Leadership/Management of local logistics and distribution team to deliver agreed upon service levels
  • Management of legal logistics costs (Budget, Latest Estimate, Actuals as well as deviations from plan). CTS expert.
  • Alignment with PBU Teams to fully understand SA and SSA market dynamics/requirements
  • Dual responsibility with Customer Facing Manager to jointly deliver seamless order to delivery to SA/SSA customers
  • Tactical and operational management of logistic service partners and contracts to drive efficiency and reduce cost
  • Competitor Market Distribution analysis in SA/SSA
  • Ensuring all processes and activities in area of responsibility are compliant with company's policies and standards.
Requirements: Qualification and skill
  • Bachelor Degree in Logistic, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in management of Warehouse & Transportation
  • Experience in distribution to Sub Saharan Africa
  • Proven track record of proposing and implementing end to end Logistics solutions that deliver customer value or/and reduce cost
  • Overall Supply Chain knowledge and Procurement experience is highly recommended
  • Strong Interpersonal and leadership skills - ability to manage internal and external stakeholders (Customers, Suppliers and PBU Heads)
  • Wider business vision and strong market orientation
  • Ability to lead and manage the Market Distribution, Warehouse and Transport Team
  • Self -driven with action and decision-making capabilities
  • Sound knowledge of Logistics related financial reporting with strong analytical skills and ability to manage data in Excel
  • Fluency in English and ability to work within an international/multicultural team
  • Computer literacy – MS Office
