Job Description: 
My client has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Engineer based in Windhoek, Namibia. The purpose of the position is to identify and develop formwork sales or hire opportunities in targeted African markets to achieve business goals.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall successful execution of new projects in their African markets, ensuring delivery of budgeted sales, profit margins and sustainable growth.

  • To analyze geographical sector covered i.t.o. Clients' projects and products and acquire new Clients by demonstrating knowledge of  products, their use and within the rules and regulations concerning products
  • To retain customers and secure relationships with key decision-makers to achieve key supplier/ business partner status:  Acquire-Extend-Retain;
  • To close deals effectively having communicated payment terms clearly to Customers, with assistance of Sales Management where necessary;   
  • To provide Customers with relevant information and arrange site and other necessary Training through the Training Manager;
  • To report progress on projects, relationships with Customers, and the development of follow-up projects to Management;
  • To communicate and co-operate with all internal departments: Operations, Technical, Finance incl. Credit Control without compromising Customer relationships and sales;
  • To meet and exceed financial targets by managing all financial, technical, legal, commercial and logistical problems with Clients;
  • To measure profitability by Customer and effectively plan time allocated to each Customer accordingly;
  • To analyze drawings and develop preliminary concepts for formwork and shoring solutions using clients products and discuss these concepts with the internal Design and Project Engineers who will develop drawings and material lists for the projects, providing Customers with the most cost effective formwork solutions;
  • To create Quotes off Quantity Lists using Data Management System, work with Estimator to submit Tenders and follow-up to win business and provide excellent service to Customers, ensuring that payment terms and conditions are clear to Customers at the outset; 
  • To provide Sales Management with information for Stock requirement forecasting and planning;
  • To manage projects under your control effectively from Clients' requests, to Order, to return of material, to payment of Invoices;
  • To share information and knowledge with Management and colleagues.
  • Minimum Matric;
  • A Construction Engineering degree with Project Management or a Civil Eng. degree will be an advantage;   
  • Two years as a Formwork Rep;
  • Full MS Office suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required;
  • Namibian citizens or candidates that can work in Namibia and do not need a work permit will be preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be a pre-requisite
