Job Description:
Our client is a leading multi-national manganese mining and processing company and have a vacancy for a Study Manager for their operations in Central Africa. The client is in the process of a large increase in production. The main function of this role is to define and carry out the studies and the mining works necessary for the opening of the deposit in the planning defined by the project. The successful incumbent will work with the Project Manager.
  • Studies and supervises the mining work related to the preparatory career of the opening of the deposit
  • Collection and determination of mining parameters sizing equipment and facilities
  • Performs the detailed mining studies necessary for the opening of the deposit
  • Provided the information necessary to update the reserves of the deposit
  • Participates in all-ore ore qualification studies required for the design of the new launderette
  • Participate in the joint mining planning of the existing mine and the new mine
  • Participates in the collection of geotechnical and hydrogeological data
  • Participates in the positioning of fixed installations on the deposit (crushing plant, transporter etc.)
  • Participates in the establishment of the master plan and the opening schedule of the new mine
  • Participates in the definition of input data for environmental impact studies
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Mining Engineering Degree with strong knowledge of mine design
  • At least 5 years’ experience in open pit, aggregate quarry or other tiered operations
  • Strong team management and interpersonal skills
  • Master the Office suite, including Excel
  • Mastering the Surpac software (preferably) or an equivalent is advantageous
  • Having a first experience in mining sequencing is essential
  • Have used XPAC, Datamine or other type of mining planning software
  • Master a GIS software
  • Fluent in French with technical English knowledge
  • Having experience on topographic surveys is advantageous
  • Have driving license B
