Job Description:
A Multi-national Accounting firm is looking to put in place an Assistant Manager, for their Due diligence department, in their Johannesburg Office. This individual will take a leading role in executing the due diligence procedures, Assist all team members in performing the procedures assigned to them & will be responsible for writing parts of the report deliverable and communicating findings to the senior team members.
  • Assist in producing work products that clearly explain key due diligence findings and recommendations to the client, ensuring compliance with Company standards
  • Challenge the engagement scope and specific procedures and suggest modifications that will better address the client's needs and concerns
  • Execute due diligence and related transaction support services in timely and professional manner (carve-out, VDD etc)
  • Enhance relationships with client management
  • Contribute to teams that will exceed client's expectations in terms of performing engagement management activities including billing, scheduling, performance, evaluations, mentoring, managing client expectations, and identifying additional client needs
  • Maintain active communication with both project leaders and clients to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction. Proactively identify, document and communicate any changes to the scope of work
  • Review work in accordance with the firm's policies on a timely basis and in a thorough and constructive manner
  • Ensure appropriate use of tools and sources of knowledge.
  • Manage risk to the firm by adhering to the risk management policies and procedures and ensuring significant risks are identified
  • Perform detailed analysis to evaluate potential deal breakers and/or contract negotiating points
  • Link key terms and conditions to areas to be focused on during due diligence
  • Draft the proposed scope and budget for the financial due diligence engagement with supervision
Requirements: Qualification and Skills
  • Post articles 0-1 years relevant working experience
  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related subject
  • Big 4 or Tier 2 experience in due diligence and/or audit
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - reports need to be ready for review
  • Good computer skills (PowerPoint and Excel) & Strong interest in Digital and data analytics (technology inclined)
  • Project & People Management Skills
