Job Description:
An International Industrial Packaging company is looking to put in place a HR Site Business Partner to manage the full Human Resources function on site. This individual will be based in Vanderbijlpark.

  • Update, Upload and Maintain confidential employment records and other HR documentation records.
  • Annually review and update site roles, responsibilities, reporting lines and job descriptions for scheduled & non-scheduled occupations.
  • Responsible for recruitment, appointment and induction processes & ensure that all participants are properly trained in these processes which must comply with local legislation.
  • Manage the contracts and SLA (Service Level Agreements) for Temporary Employment Services providers in line with applicable legislation in this regard.
  • Manage the company’s leave procedures.
  • Liaise with Provident Fund administrators and ensure that member requirements are met; handle withdrawals, death and disability claims on behalf of members.
  • Responsible for all labour relations matters; facilitate monthly meetings between management and shop stewards; responsible for maintaining records of these meetings; follow up with managers on action points; ensure that appropriate communication takes place on issues that affect various employment categories. 
  • Participate in National Shop Stewards Committee annual meetings; develop good relationship with recognized union (NUMSA) representatives.
  • Ensure that all disciplinary action and grievances are handled in line with company procedure and relevant law.
  • Identify and track legal and industry employee training requirements, skills deficits, development initiatives and new job requirements; participate in the formulation of the annual national staff training plan; source, implement, drive and monitor plan progress, manage costs, maintain training records; compile monthly reports. 
  • Support management with the administration of performance appraisals; provide guidance on process and procedures as requested; source, recommend & project manage suitable training options for inclusion in individual development and performance improvement plans.
  • Compile monthly site staffing reports; analyze headcount and employment costs against budget; identify variances / trends e.g. absenteeism, overtime, contractors etc.)
  • Participate in BBBEE initiatives – responsible for submission of information pertaining to training for annual BBBEE verification audits. 
  • Actively support all health and safety initiatives; incorporate health and safety requirements into Human resources processes and procedures where appropriate.
  • Participate as an Internal Auditor (certified) on bi-monthly internal audits (quality).  Attend internal audit committee meetings as and when required.
  • Attend Industry Employer Body meetings as when required & Attend bi-weekly Site Operations Meetings.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Relevant HR tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Manufacturing industry
  • Experience working in an unionized environment
  • Must be a South African individual
