Job Description:
Responsible for facilitating Islamic Banking business growth through sale of products including building profitable client relationships, maintaining effective portfolio management and standards of service quality in compliance with applicable policies and procedures. This position will be based in Johannesburg.
  • Assist all branches in selling Islamic Banking products.
  • Build relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Manage the onboarding process of new customers and ensure all formalities are completed in line with the applicable policies and procedures.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly business targets allocated to Islamic Banking.
  • Initiate marketing calls with existing and potential customers, record all customer calls, undertake periodic review of accounts and submit call reports to Head Islamic Banking.
  • Provide market report to Head Islamic Banking with regard to market size, products, pricing and any new initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance of Shariah requirements at all times.
  • Implement the business strategy for Islamic Banking and ensure alignment of the same with the overall strategy of the bank.
  • Assist in the Banks efforts to combat money laundering by staying alert and adhering to the key principles in relation to knowing your customer (KYC), reporting suspicious transactions and safeguarding the customer records.
  • Evaluate and acquire a good understanding of the risks associated with individual transactions, products and customers e.g. excesses etc.
  • Provide feedback to Head Islamic Banking and colleagues regarding customer needs, bank products, customer complaints etc. Foster effective working partnerships with customers as well as with other support functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant Islamic Banking certification will be a definitive advantage
  • At least 6 to 8 years of experience in Islamic Banking
