Job Description:
An international Bank is seeking a Treasury & Money Market dealer to be based in Durban. This individual will be responsible for managing the overall funding requirements, liquidity position and interest rate exposure. They will Forecast and identify the direction/position of the market by continuously analyzing and monitoring all the current financial market information available. Analyze, interpret and disseminate this information, in order to maximize return on interest rate movements. 
  • Formulate and implement the dealing strategy and supervise the trading activity.
  • Supervise team’s inter-bank money market trading affairs while monitoring all risks and making wise and logical decisions resulting in non-risky profitability.
  • Remain up to date on developments in the industry, in order to improve operational efficiency and increase Banks profitability.
  • Manage the balance of the Bank’s liquidity requirements and accordingly enter into transactions.
  • Support the line manager in increasing the liquidity of the Bank’s Balance sheet and Corporate growth.
  • Ensure trading is undertaken within the set parameters, Bank’s internal controls and regulatory guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze economic indicators and secondary market data, in order to achieve/exceed targets set and contribute to future growth plans.
  • Build and manage relationships with customers, understand their requirements and resolve important queries
  • Forecast interest rates, analyze and provide market information to enable better decision making for quoting rates on assets & liabilities and maximization of profits.
  • Efficiently manage the cash flows for treasury and generate more liquidity by providing competitive rates.
  • Maintain healthy professional relationships with other inter-bank market participants.
  • Train and coach team members. Assist the Manager in motivating every team member to promote and maximize sales. Contribute to developing team-spirit among peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Postgraduate degree / MBA or equivalent masters level (preferably in Finance) / CFA 
  • Minimum 6 years in Treasury management exposure across a range of business disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Strong understanding of Treasury products, regulatory/economic & market environment, financial instruments, bank products & processes
  • Highly skillful at product analysis, planning, execution and decision making
  • Leadership, motivational and team building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst retaining the essence of good interpersonal skills
