Job Description:
A Private, Development Finance institution seeks a Treasurer who has strong interpersonal and communication skills, for liaising with all stakeholders including investors. The treasurer will be based in the Mauritius office. The treasurer must have good numeracy and analytical skills, as well as, IT literacy, specifically on treasury systems and should have an interest in the financial markets and how they operate. The treasurer should have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
 
Responsibilities:
  • The position reports to the CFO. Within the organization, the position has primary working relationships with the Regional Investment Directors/ Investment Executives/ Functional Managers, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Secretary.
  • The Treasurer is involved in the process of effectively managing the treasury activities of the Group, its’ subsidiaries, and the various Funds under its’ management.
  • The treasury related activities include an understanding of financial risk management, asset & liability management, investment management, foreign exchange, interest rate risk management, capital markets and money markets.
  • Furthermore, an understanding of accounting standards, legal agreements and corporate governance is also required.
  • The main accountabilities of the Treasurer are to:
  • Provide reliable and cost-effective financial risk management services associated with volatile currencies and fluctuating interest rates;
  • Provide support to business units and provides the interface between business and financial markets;
  • Provide sound advice to the various stakeholders including fund management on meeting funding needs, liquidity risks and managing its financial assets and liabilities;
  • Strive for excellence in the planning, management, control and technology employment in meeting the Groups treasury needs
  • Accountabilities: Cash Management, Cashflow forecasting, Liquidity Management, Investments & Distributions of funds, Revenues monitoring.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Minimum Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Investment management
  • 5 years’ front office trading & general corporate treasury experience
  • Knowledge of IFRS & Applicable laws and regulations
  • Proficient software applications (MS office, Treasury Management systems & eBanking platforms)
  • Only open to Mauritian nationals
  • Must be fluent in French
