Job Description:
Our Client is seeking a Project engineer to manage all aspects of the project life cycle; planning, capital estimating, design and execution.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to provide clear direction to contractors
  • Co-ordinates the interaction between project stakeholders
  • Apply mechanical engineering knowledge, ensuring the design meets sound engineering principles and practice
  • Manage contractor progress
  • Ensures that appropriate deadlines are maintained
  • Ensures the skills transfer from construction contractors to engineering maintenance personnel during the course of construction
  • Manages  the day to day progress of the internal mechanical projects manufacturing team
  • Adapt and utilise industry accepted codes of practice, standards and procedures during the commissioning  phase of the project
  • Ensures adherence to Environment, Health and Safety policies, procedures, programmes, practices and campaigns
  • Co-ordinates the closure of the project
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ related experience working as project engineer in a mining environment ;
  • 4 years’ experience in project management at a minimum of a project lead level;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the work methods and techniques applied in Project Management ;
  • Work experience with major project houses - advantageous;
  • Certification as a professional engineer - advantageous;
