Job Description:
The individual will form part of the Institutional sales function for the company focusing on pension funds, insurance companies, asset consultants, family offices and other institutional clients.  The company has as an objective to build a world class sales and client service capability which supports the firm’s goals of deepening and strengthening both its multi-fund private and public market fund range.
  • Achieve set targeted AUM goals in a high-pressure sales environment.
  • Continuously drive market penetration through ongoing interaction with existing networks, new sales, client retention activities and via strategy and business plans and assists in identifying ways to add value and depth to relationships.
  • Ensure accurate administration of CRM system in terms of prospect and sales information, keep accurate records and run periodic progress reports.
  • Create opportunities for thought leadership pieces and managing distribution of periodic marketing collateral within the market
  • Coordinating, preparation of and hosting of onsite visits of clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the monthly and quarterly reports, commentaries and portfolio review materials are accurately completed and disseminated to clients.
  • Managing the Due Diligence Questionnaire process and other client requests collaborating with various internal stakeholders.
  • Initiating and supporting the on boarding process for new clients.
  • Collaborate on various projects related to the institutional environment.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures providing for more efficient and timely execution of team tasks.
  • Assist with various administrative duties where necessary.
  • Ensure sales practices and process comply with internal and external compliance requirements and standards
  • Contribute towards strategic account planning and consultative sales process.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • The successful candidate must have an undergraduate degree.
  • CFA and/or MBA would be an advantage.
  • 5-10 years of distribution and sales experience with pension funds, insurance companies, asset consultants, family offices and other institutional clients.
  • South African national
  • A track record of selling across both traditional product lines, as well as into complex or illiquid products is an advantage.
  • Strong people skills needed in order to build trust and confidence
  • Good communication and presentation skills
