Job Description:
Our company provides the full project execution services from conceptual engineering through commissioning and 
construction support. In these projects, E&CS designer takes responsibility for the development of technical drawings for 
projects in the oil, gas and (petrol) chemical industry. The Engineer works within a task force for the realization of multi
discipline projects in close cooperation with other disciplines, and clients to translate engineered solution into detailed 
design. The Project Engineer works under direct supervision of the Operations Manager which acts as a mentor and coach. 
 The Electrical & Instrumentation & Control system group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership 
skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to experience focusing on integer detailed design, a strong 
set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for a successful designer. Being a team player and having an ability to 
interact effectively with others technical disciplines in our task force is essential.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate & interface with Engineering Discipline in development of Project Scope

  • Professional in the way they communicate to colleagues, clients and suppliers.
  • Exposure to design of building services electrical and power distribution systems.
  • Able to produce high quality, accurate designs that are fit for purpose whilst applying best energy efficient technology.
  • Experienced in using electrical engineering design software.
  • MS Office proficient (Advanced user in MS Excel).
  • Experienced with at least 3 - 7 years’ relevant experience in electrical design and contract administration
  • A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree (University or Technicon) in electrical engineering.
  • Able to effectively manage contractors.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification - Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years Engineering Discipline
  • Petro Chemicals, Oil & Gas or Similar  Environment
  • EP Projects
  • Good written & verbal Communication & interpersonal skills
  • Technical Writing ability
  • Adhere to National & International Standards & Specifications
  • Adhere to HSE Policies & Procedures
  • Development of energy-efficient engineering solutions
  • Run and produce solution designs, including Life Cycle Cost Analysis, using various business models for energy savings opportunities
  • Design electrical solutions for building services electrical; electrical reticulation; and power systems.
  • Work closely with other teams – including engineering teams from other disciplines, analysts and client engagement managers.
  • Liaison with Architects, other designers, client technical managers and end users.
  • Contract administration, including compilation of tender documents and specifications; payment certificates; contract meetings etc.
