Job Description:

  • Seek ways of perfecting processes and systems. Raise standards, reduce errors, gain efficiency and prevent omissions.

  1. Establish a proper operational support structure to ensure that support can be delivered “In-Country” and on site through partnership and SLA’s.
  2. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, technology and support partners both internally and externally.
  3. Identify operational improvers that will enhance the control and performance of the companies operating across Africa and identify new technologies to underpin the solution to those needs.
  4. Analyse requirements and recommend system controls and protocols.
  5. Maintain responsibility for system implementation and development.
  6. Control and coordinate the development and integration of systems with various internal and external partners, including delivery to budgets and timelines.
  7. Workflow re-engineering of business processes.
  8. Testing of systems and workflow.
  9. Identify current business processes, document them and develop recommendations for improvement.
  10. Perform business analysis to identify issues of concern and formulate a course of action.
  11. Support teams in the implementation of process improvement recommendations, including analysis and tracking.
  12. Make presentations to all levels of the organisation.
  13. Gather, compile, analyse and document information regarding business processes.
  14. Work closely with business units and other project team members to understand business, design and functional requirements that drive quality and overall business improvement.
  15. Business Process required:
    1. Obtain full knowledge and awareness of the current operating environment, being the manual, as well as system based, procedures. This must be documented and a functional knowledge of the business must be built up during this stage.
    2. Recommend and support process improvements to the silo. Importantly this is inclusive of operating procedures, software specification and functionality, and is not limited only to technical system elements.
    3. Review business environment requirements and source new applications or software that supports these needs. There should be a strong bias towards mobile/web based solutions.
    4. Engage with current management for potential improvements and the growth path for the business.
    5. Define, lead and implement the BI framework model for the Group to provide the operations and management with adequate reporting tools.
    6. Additionally, using the industry knowledge built up in points a – e above, independently suggest business and system improvements (functionality, software and / or potential new business lines for the silo to consider).
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • A relevant post graduate qualification (eg. BSc Comp Sc; BCom IS) is essential.
  • The company will only look at candidates who have no less than 5 years relevant, working experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services is essential.
  • South African citizen.
  • Candidates with extensive experience in supporting financial systems, with specific focus on business process and reporting will be given priority.
  • IT knowledge is essential.
  • A strong command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the job.
  • Ability to analyse information, pick up inaccuracies and take corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ability to facilitate communication between technology vendors, internal Group IT and Business users is vital.
  • Ability to juggle numerous tasks simultaneously (requiring effective co-ordination and communication).
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with different cultures and personalities.
  • Have drive, assertion and the ability to communicate with others in a logical manner.
  • Be assertive and have the ability to execute agreed tasks and deliverables.
  • Be logical, analytical and accurate in the preparation of information.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • By nature of the group, travel will be required from any staff member of the company from time to time. In this particular role the successful candidate should be prepared to travel as and when required.
