We are seeking an astute professional to take responsibility for the asset management function of a portfolio of properties. The business has a strong track record, has experienced strong growth to date and now requires an individual who is results driven to continue to add to the success of the business.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • The focus of the role is the delivery of the asset management function for the property portfolio, including a focus on financial management and reporting, by an individual who can operate independently as well as part of a growing team.
  • The ability to manage third party property management service providers and ensure optimal delivery and execution of strategic initiatives by such a third party are critical to the success of the role, as the individual will need to be able to provide guidance on complex issues from leasing to utilities and tenant-mix matters.
  • Ownership of annual budgeting, monthly property reviews and bi-annual investor reporting are core to the deliverables within this role.
  • Previous work experience within the commercial property industry is essential.
  • The candidate must be energetic, driven and must have a proven track record.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • BSc (Property Studies)/ BCom (Hons) / CA(SA) / CIMA
  • 5 years’ work experience in commercial property
  • South African citizen, preferably already based in Cape Town
  • MS Office (advanced levels on Excel)
  • Skill to deal with legal agreements, legal terminology and the application thereof
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholder
  • Results and deadline driven, detail oriented, analytical, meticulous and high energy levels continually striving for excellence
  • Ability to manage team members and external service providers effectively
  • Strong planning and coordination skills with the ability to work independently
  • Decision-making ability with confidence to apply judgment
  • Driven and assertive, with sound problem-solving, negotiating and organizing skills
  • Ability to think strategically and long term
  • Strong people skills needed to build trust and confidence
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure within time constraints
