Job Description:
Our client requires the services of an Maintenance Technician to be responsible for the maintenance, repairs and management of spares for all kitchen, laundry and waste water treatment equipment. The job holder will also be responsible for ordering of spares for all the mentioned equipment. The job holder will maintain records pertaining to all equipment mentioned. The job holder will develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program for all the equipment. Install any new equipment or decommission any old equipment. All the areas mentioned will fall within the scope of responsibility but will not be limited to these areas based on operational requirements. The job holder will also be required to assist with any and all construction or remodelling tasks within the company’s area of responsibility.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Daily Equipment checks.
  • Prepare reports and projections based on this analysis.
  • Prepare accurate and useful consolidated spares lists and maintain levels so that all equipment is kept running at its optimal level.
  • Prepare a PPM plan for all the equipment.
  • Assist in training a Junior Technician.
  • Consistently gain and update industry knowledge of the equipment being used in the operation.
  • Any other duties that may be allocated from time to time.
  • Ensure that any costs within the job scope are managed and reported to the Project Manager.
  • Job card planning.
  • Be able to offer temporary solutions to keep equipment on line and operational.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Professionally qualified plumber or electrician.
  • 10 years relevant experience in Camp Maintenance on remote sites within African countries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Expat experience is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of PPM systems.
  • Well informed in current financial subjects, tax laws, money market and business environment
