Job Description:
Manage the Zambia Finance Department.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile monthly management accounts & all related functions per internal deadlines set and ensure its accurate and complete for review by International FD and MD
  • Review relevant country balance sheet reconciliations and engage with finance teams to understand reconciliations items and resolve any variances in a timely manner
  • Provide problem solving assistance
  • Review reconciliations for all transactions
  • Monitor debtors and enquire about overdue debtors and reasons thereof
  • Manage cash flow forecasts
  • Process relevant transactions in Pastel for International business e.g.: month end journals
  • Manage banking process
  • Manage foreign currency exposure and provide guidance
  • Complete annual budget process
  • Support annual budget presentation process
  • Manage financial year ends and liaise auditors to ensure process is complete per deadlines set and all audit matters are resolved
  • Complete and/or review annual audit packs Assess internal controls procedures and advise on changes to be implemented
  • Maintain sound corporate governance within the organisation, ensure justifiable decision making reflect corporate values and ensure transparency
  • Ensuring financial discipline-provide budgetary resources & monitor budget management
  • Ensure adequate explanations for all over/under expenditure
  • Give input into business planning process
  • Manage all tax processes
  • Manage internal & external audit process
  • Co-ordinate administration service
  • Provide problem solving assistance
  • Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for the departments
  • Develop and maintain a high performance team
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meet principles of sound corporate governance and internationally accepted standards
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles and processes
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation
  • Good understanding of core business principles and processes
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing and trading environment
  • Relevant finance qualification, preferable CA (SA) / ZICA or CIMA qualification will be required
  • Any other Business Management related qualification in combination with a Financial qualification will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a similar level
