Job Description:
The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial leadership to the Banking Customer Support Centre and oversee the rendering of services offered to internal and external banking customers. This division is responsible for the role as banker to government for all domestic settlements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide input into the strategic direction of the Banking Customer Support Centre function in support of the bank’s strategy.
  • Develop operational plans and budgets for the Banking Customer Support Centre that are aligned to the Financial Services Department and the bank, and take accountability for the implementation and monitoring thereof.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigating controls related to own function and ensure compliance with relevant governance frameworks, including reporting to banking regulators.
  • Formulate reports and provide management with pertinent information for the purpose of facilitating strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the accounting function in accordance with the bank’s policies, and relevant accounting standards and acts.
  • Lead and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships at various levels of seniority, endeavouring to gain stakeholder trust and buy-in.
 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • A minimum of a CA (SA)  or a Masters’ Degree in Banking/Finance; and
  • A minimum of 10 to 12 years’ experience within a banking/financial environment, of which 5 to 7 years should be in a senior management position.
