HR and People Strategy
  • Translates business strategy into HR and People strategy.
  • Develops plans to realise strategy.
  • Sets specific medium and long term objectives.
  • Communicates strategy and plan to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitors progress against objectives set.
Learning & Development
  • Leads the strategic capability development plans, priorities and bench-strength.
  • Identifies key learning needs to support business direction, individual and team development.
  • Ensures learning programmes and interventions are designed to address learning needs.
  • Contracts delivery of learning solutions.
  • Monitors effectiveness of learning initiatives.
Management Effectiveness
  • Manages service delivery through other managers and their teams.
  • Individually accountable for execution of strategy over a 1-2 year period.
  • Drives operational excellence through area of supervision.
  • Holds first line managers accountable for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management.
  • Develops Managers of Others and specialists under supervision.
Organisation Design and Development
  • Facilitates the development of organisation structure to support business strategy.
  • Develops Organisation Development and Change plans to address change imperatives.
  • Ensures change capability in place to lead and facilitate initiatives.
  • Develops and implements specific initiatives to create leadership and team effectiveness in alignment with espoused values and principles.
  • Develops internal communications plan to support change and ensure staff engagement and commitment.
People Management Value Chain
  • Ensures people policies and practices in place to drive high performing organisation and business objectives.
  • Ensures alignment of business practices to corporate HR practices and minimum governance.
  • Ensures line management enabled to utilise practices and processes (focus on resourcing, goal alignment, performance management, retention, reward and recognition and transformation).
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • 8 to 12 years’ experience in HR of which at least 3 years must be in a Senior Management capacity.
  • Post-Graduate Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology. Leadership/Management qualification an advantage.
  • Possess broad knowledge and experience in human resource management.
  • Possess solid experience in change management and organisational Development.
  • Must have Rest of Africa experience.
  • Ability to drive HR strategies with a foundation of HR business metrics to increase organizational profitability and effectively align the workforce.
  • Great communication skills; understands how to communicate large complex change using written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Proven track record of influencing and coaching executives to organize strategically to scale and flex with business needs.
  • Adaptable and able to cope with a dynamic environment.
  • Be reliable, have integrity and display a professional approach. Maintain confidentiality of all information, both from internal and external sources.
  • Have solid business acumen.
  • Must be willing to travel across the Africa continent.
Extensive knowledge of project governance is essential.
