Trade and Supply Specialist (Africa / oil products / French / bid and tendering) – Dubai

This is a Senior position reporting to the General Manager.

  • Source and supply the Group affiliates (buyers) with quality products that meet the local requirements at a competitive price, and at the right time and at nominated port of supply.
  • Be the primary interface with suppliers and buyers, both internally and externally.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and suggest ways forward to senior management, for informed guidance.
  • Negotiate and contract extensively for products sourcing/supply with suppliers and traders, within the approved delegation of authority, and secure internal legal, finance and management review and formal approval, in coordination and agreement with the buyers.
  • Ensure compliance with any regulatory guidelines, including ensuring that adequate records are kept in order to enable the company to meet its obligations.
  • Analyze market trends as well as devising and implementing profitable trading strategies. 
  • Develop supply business in support of the marketing strategy, in growing markets. 
  • Provide assistance in designing relevant strategy for organic and external growth (through investments). 
  • Share information/intelligence across Supply & Trading team.
  • Provide the affiliates with the relevant support in developing business/strategies with suppliers for spot, medium and long-term contracts
  • Identify market opportunities and provide relevant assistance to the Supply teams in the affiliates in developing concrete plans to secure them. 
  • Be a focal point for prices information, generate (on daily, weekly, monthly basis) market trends for marketed products, and share this info with stakeholders within the team as well as the affiliates, in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in the analysis and improvement of the Supply and Logistics chain within the affiliates through specific studies. 
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Supply competencies through training and best practices, including through cross-sector meetings.
  • Participate in the development of the best practices with regard to Supply and Trading, including operational stocks, pricing risk mitigation, key performance indicators, controls catalog, market intelligence, etc.
  • Provide operational assistance to the affiliates, including in the following areas:
    • Assessment of the needs;
    • Optimization and recommendation on current Supply & Logistics, niche markets, affiliate’s organizational structure;
    • Clarify to the stakeholders, whenever necessary, the functioning of the oil markets and its risks’ management.
  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly meetings with stakeholders

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Market analysis and benchmarking experience and skills
  • Contract preparation and documentation experience and skills
  • Product quality, handling and control experience and skills
  • Versed with trading, hedging, risk management and finance
  • Understanding of multi-modal transport operation

  • Availability and willingness to be on call (by suppliers and buyers) 24/7 
  • Fluent written and spoken English and French are mandatory with Arabic as desirable
