Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking several Power Station Specialists on their new mine in Mozambique
  • Managing a team of electricians and engine mechanics
  • Working back to back with the Power Station Superintendent
  • Manage, coordinate and supervise Power Plant department employee activities to ensure that the objectives established by the Superintendent are being achieved and that company policies are being followed. 
  • Maintaining efficient operation of the power plant while prompting and attaining a zero-accident work environment.
  • Assume responsibility for energy project scopes, costs, schedules, safety and quality
  • Ensure that safety and the environment are constantly an integral part of power plant standard
  • Communicate plant objectives and standards to all personnel
  • Establish measures and systems to manage, evaluate and control plant activities and performance
  • Make certain that plant personnel comply with established codes of conduct
  • Liaise with safety department to minimize all risks associated with precious metal processing
  • Ensure that the work place environment is conductive to motivation, teamwork, independence, initiative and creativity
  • Ensure that the manpower and resources are adequate to achieve established objectives effectively and risk-free
  • Make sure that employees are well trained and equipped to carry out all their assigned task
  • Maintain fair and equitable treatment of all employees and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect
  • Participate in the development of local talent and perform other duties as required
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  • Previous experience working on power plants on remote sites
  • Electrical / control room background
  • Relevant qualification in electrical engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of equipment used in the power plant
  • Demonstrated experience in prompting safety as the main priority
  • Knowledge of safety codes and regulations
