Job Description:
The company is a housing financier, with a collection mechanism using a salary deduction model, with added services such as insurance and savings products. 
The Head of Sales will maintain responsibility for the following: 

1. The identification and development of new housing and housing microfinance opportunities for the Group, in different countries. 2. Providing an oversight, monitoring, tracking and management advisory role with regard to sales and marketing in all countries of operation.
3. Fulfilling the role of relief country head as and when required. 

Key Deliverables of the Business Development Manager 

1. New Country Development:
i. Assist in researching and developing sales budgets or any new countries  
ii. Assist with appointing new sales teams in new countries
iii. Assist in the operationalizing new country operations

2. Sales Management:
i. Drive results per country, against budget

3. Roving Country Manager:
i. Stand in as country manager in the following cases:
a. Where a current country manager is ill or on leave.
b. Where a country manager has resigned or has been suspended or dismissed.
c. Where an unfilled vacancy exists.
ii. Act as trouble shooter for a wide range of operational challenges in the following cases:
a. Where specific country operational challenges require specialist attention.
b. In cases where turnaround strategies are required.

4. Sales Analysis:
i. Monitor daily sales results for each country.
ii. Monitor sales strategy implementation in each country.
iii. Monitor sales staff activity in each country.
iv. Monitor product and sectoral performance in each country.

5. Marketing Management:
i. Assessing of competitors' value propositions in each country and making appropriate recommendations for amendments to the firm’s existing offerings in each country.
ii. Recommending of amended/additional strategies for products in each country.
iii. Monitoring and management of all external sales and marketing campaigns, advertising and promotions, to ensure accuracy and consistency of image, presentation and message. i
v. Ensuring that the rollout of the new corporate identity is appropriately rolled out and implemented in each country. 
Requirements: Qualification and Skill  
A relevant tertiary qualification is essential. 

Experience / Background Preference 
1. The company will only look at candidates who have no less than TEN years related work experience.
2. Previous experience within the financial services sector is essential.
3. Furthermore, previous experience within the Microfinance sector is essential.
4. Previous marketing and/or new business development experience is essential. 
5. Experience on the African continent (outside of South Africa) is essential.
6. South African citizen
7. Willingness to travel extensively  
8. An excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the role.
